Using the files

Every file is gzip compressed. JSON is a single array of objects, NDJSON has one object per line, CSV has a header row, and text files have one value per line. All are UTF-8.

Exports run once a week. If nothing changed, the previous export stays current. We keep the last 12 weekly exports and the first export of every month.

In CSV, list values are joined with |, and text that starts with = + - @ gets a leading apostrophe so spreadsheets don't run it as a formula. NDJSON keeps values exactly as they are.

What's included

Only servers we could reach recently and that are listed on FediDB.
Servers that opted out, asked crawlers to stay away in robots.txt, or were removed by moderators are never included.
The server lists skip servers with a single account. Those servers are still in the domain lists and still count toward totals.
Numbers come from each server's NodeInfo, so they are only as accurate as the server reports.
