Server map
Where fediverse servers are hosted, grouped by city. Locations come from each server's IP address, so they show the data centre, not where the people on it live.

Servers in a city, sized by count Individual server
How this works
Each server's IP address is matched against two free geolocation databases, DB-IP City Lite and MaxMind GeoLite2.
Servers behind a CDN like Cloudflare share the CDN's addresses, so their real location can't be known. They're counted above but not placed. Locations are only ever shown at city level, and individual servers only appear once they have 1,000 or more users.
